Shepherd Communications has over 175 years’ combined experience in the telecommunications and utilities industry. Headquartered in Nicholasville, KY, it was founded in 1999 by Eric Shepherd as an installation services company, performing primarily residential CATV installation services. In 2005, Shepherd Communications ventured into the Outside Plant Construction part of the business as a principle turn-key provider in a “Fiber to the Schools” project in Fayette County, KY. Shepherd Communications expanded that portion of the company by also providing full service coaxial and fiber optic construction services. A Commercial Department for installation services was added to provide low-voltage voice, data and video services to the business community and the multi dwelling housing market. Shepherd Communications has also expanded to add offices in Shelbyville, KY and Evansville, IN to provide installation services to Insight Communications.
